Translation is the process of transforming a text from one language to another while maintaining its original meaning and intent. It is an activity that requires understanding the source text, interpreting its meaning and rendering it in a different language. In short, translation is a complex activity that goes beyond simply replacing words. It requires a deep understanding of the original text, careful analysis of the context and a skilful ability to adapt in order to create a translated text that is faithful to the original and appropriate for the new audience.
Since 2005, I have been working with the main CAT tools such as Trados Studio, MemoQ, Transit, and Across.
Interpreting is the act of translating orally from one language to another, usually in real time, during events such as conferences, meetings or legal proceedings. A professional interpreter listens to the speech in one language and reproduces it immediately in another, ensuring that the message is conveyed clearly and accurately.

PREPARATION FOR DECK AND ENGINE OFFICERS
Since 2022, I have had the honour and privilege of working as an English and automation teacher at the ITS in Catania. During these years, I have had the opportunity to prepare hundreds of engineering and deck officer cadets, helping them to fulfil their dream of becoming third engineering and deck officers. In addition, for years I have been privately tutoring young people from all over Italy, preparing them online for the written and oral English exam held every year at the Port Authorities throughout Italy, such as Catania, Naples, Bari, Livorno and Genoa.
